Job Title: Professional Development Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director
Salary Range: Negotiable

Summary:
EMCED is an educational service agency (501(C) (3) corporation serving 24-school districts in East Central Mississippi. Based on the belief that professional development is dynamic, EMCED provided professional development opportunities that encourage the development of new methods and skills for all educators, and that is ongoing and job-embedded. An integral service to member districts, PD offerings are provided through two delivery models: regional and in-district. Annually, EMCED serves more than 4000 participants through 200 training sessions-225 training days/year. EMCED is located on the Meridian Campus of Mississippi State University. The Professional Development Coordinator works under the direct supervision of EMCED's Executive Director to develop a regional and on-line schedule of professional development offerings. The Coordinator also works with district professional development and curriculum coordinators, superintendents and principals to develop, schedule and deliver in-district requests. EMCED's Professional Development Coordinator must have experience with developing and delivering professional development, modeling good instructional practice, be technology literate, and work well with other people to be effective in facilitating change. Administrative experience is desired, but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Oversee, schedule and evaluate EMCED's Professional Development Program

  • Conduct district/site visits
  • Facilitate regional meeting with district professional development coordinator, curriculum coordinators and principals
  • Provide training (based on experience and credentials) • Evaluate and refine program based on formative and summative assessment data
  • Assist and train in the development of school site-based Professional Learning Communities
  • Coordinate and support more than 50+ trainers/consultants
  • Assist, design and facilitate special professional development projects
  • Facilitate professional development in the areas of Common Core, literacy, school improvement, peer coaching, leadership, technology and other areas of need.
  • Other duties may also be assigned by the Executive Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree with administrative preferred but not required.
